Monster (2003 film) review

• Wow, is that Charlize Theron?  Interesting that she took this role and I never knew about it; probably back in 2003, I saw the theatrical trailer and didn't think twice about it
• After reading more about Aileen Wuornos, it is important to note there is a difference between a documentary and "based on a true story"
• Whether these are taken from Wuornos's letters or created by the writer, Patty Jenkins, I like how the Wuornos character speaks about the "truisms" we are told:  "All you need is love", "Faith will move mountains", etc.  I guess this appeals to the cynical part of me
• The soundtrack is captivating and touching, even though you don't notice how good it is until you think about it
